Jyotiṣa Foundations — Reading the Pañcāṅga

Caru Govinda Dāsa · July 4, 2026

The pañcāṅga — the traditional Hindu almanac — hangs in almost every household, yet few of us were ever taught to read it. This foundation course opens it page by page: the five limbs of the day, the temperaments of the thirty tithis, the characters of the 27 nakṣatras, and the quiet art of weighing them together to sense the quality of any given day.

Taught in a warm, practical style for the modern householder, and rooted in the Vaiṣṇava understanding that time itself is an energy of Bhagavān, the course assumes no prior knowledge of astrology or Sanskrit. By the final lesson you will be able to open tomorrow’s pañcāṅga and read it the way our grandparents did — with understanding, and with reverence.

Five self-paced lessons. Keep a printed pañcāṅga or a pañcāṅga app beside you; everything else you need is within.
